My Amazing Brain: Understanding Your Neurodivergent Mind

About Course

This course is written directly to you - not to your parents, not to your teachers, but to you - because understanding how your brain works is one of the most powerful things you can ever do for yourself. You will explore what it means to be neurodivergent, discover the real science behind why your brain works the way it does, and learn how to speak up for yourself in school, at home, and in life. Every lesson is warm, honest, and built around one big idea: your brain is not broken, it is brilliant.

What Will You Learn?

  • Explain what neurodiversity and neurodivergence mean in your own words, without using clinical or complicated language
  • Describe how different brains - including yours - process the world in genuinely different ways, using real neuroscience explained simply
  • Identify your own strengths as a neurodivergent person and name at least three things your brain does brilliantly
  • Recognise what is happening in your body and brain during big emotions, sensory experiences, and overwhelming moments
  • Use specific, practical language to ask for what you need at school and at home
  • Name neurodivergent people who have shaped history, science, art, and culture - and see yourself in that story
  • Describe the difference between masking who you are and showing up as yourself, and why that matters for your wellbeing
  • Build a personal self-advocacy statement you can actually use when you need support
