Finally Diagnosed: Making Sense of Your Neurodivergent Identity After a Late Diagnosis

About Course

A grounding, honest course for adults who have received a late diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or a related neurodivergent condition and are trying to figure out what to do with that information. Dave walks you through the emotional aftermath of late diagnosis, how to reread your life history without shame, how to navigate disclosure, and how to build an identity rooted in who you actually are. This is not a course about managing your deficits. It is a course about finally understanding yourself.

What Will You Learn?

  • Explain why late diagnosis is so common and what systemic and personal factors typically delay it
  • Name and process your own emotional responses to diagnosis - including grief, relief, anger, and identity confusion - without judging yourself for having them
  • Reframe past experiences, relationships, and struggles through a neurodivergent lens without falling into self-blame
  • Make informed, confident decisions about when, how, and whether to disclose your diagnosis at work, with family, and in relationships
  • Identify what workplace adjustments and NDIS supports you may be entitled to and take practical steps to access them
  • Articulate your neurodivergent identity in your own terms, grounded in self-knowledge rather than deficit-based language
  • Find peer community, lived-experience resources, and ongoing support that fits where you are right now
  • Develop a personal self-advocacy approach that works across different contexts in your life
