About Course

This course was written for you – not your parents, not your teachers – because you deserve real answers about how your brain works and what you need to do well. Covering everything from understanding your diagnosis and managing school demands to building self-advocacy skills and finding your people, this is a practical, honest guide to navigating life as a neurodivergent teenager. You will finish with your own personalised Brain User Manual and the language to ask for what you actually need.

What Will You Learn?

  • Explain how your own brain works using accurate, confident language - including what your diagnosis does and does not mean
  • Build a personal Brain User Manual that captures your strengths, challenges, sensory needs, and what helps you thrive
  • Advocate for yourself in conversations with teachers, counsellors, and support staff using clear, specific language
  • Identify where and why you mask, and practise strategies for unmasking safely in low-risk situations
  • Apply practical strategies for managing executive function, energy levels, and sensory needs across school and daily life
  • Explain your rights within the Australian Disability Standards for Education and know how to raise concerns when those rights are not met
  • Recognise the signs of autistic burnout or ADHD burnout early and know what to do - including when to ask for help
  • Navigate secondary school social dynamics, understand friendship challenges specific to neurodivergent teens, and find community with other neurodivergent young people
