Anxiety and the Neurodivergent Brain: A Toolkit for Young People Who Feel Everything Intensely

About Course

Most anxiety advice was written for neurotypical brains, and if yours has never quite fit that mould, this course was made for you. You will learn why your brain feels anxiety so deeply, how to spot the early signs before things spiral, and how to build a personal toolkit of strategies that work with your nervous system instead of against it. This is not about fixing yourself - it is about understanding yourself, and that changes everything.

What Will You Learn?

  • Explain why neurodivergent brains are wired to experience anxiety more intensely, so you can stop blaming yourself for how you feel
  • Identify your own early anxiety signals in your body and behaviour before they build into something overwhelming
  • Tell the difference between anxiety that is keeping you safe and anxiety that is getting in the way of your life
  • Use a personal toolkit of regulation strategies chosen for how your specific brain and nervous system work
  • Describe how sensory differences, demand avoidance, and masking connect to and fuel your anxiety
  • Ask for help in a way that feels real and clear, and explain your anxiety to the adults around you in words that actually land
  • Recognise anxiety as something you can learn to work with, not something that defines who you are
